OK! - OK!...I give up...

By: Randy Dykstra

Kathy,

There will be a time for the Nautilas machines... and while the may be a real NEAT idea to Ross...I GUARANTEE there will be times in the NEAR future where Ross may swear at the day he wanted to touch those machines... Of course that's only during the workout or immediately prior or after it...

Actually, the mind set is changing concerning pitching and weight lifting... Again you don't try go out and try to be MR Universe... From my personal experiences and discussions with upper level sport community for numerous years I would definitely urge a program as soon as Ross hit puberty.... (right after that year he grow 6 inches and gains 40 lbs...) Actually I started in the middle of that period and it may have added to my development....

My son has started lifting small dumb bells and occasionally attends that "core muscle" program (when BB doesn't conflict...its on Sat so its getting tough this time of year). I feel he's only a year or so away from starting a program, and like you said it will be 60 to 70% of Max weight and large reps ...20 or so...

Sometimes its hard to tell your son to "Stop trying to grow up so fast!"... Going back and seeing the younger ages is really making realize how far my son has come...
