Cory West, Head Coach

Coach West is in his first year as Head Coach of the Kamiak Knights Varsity Squad. For the past five seasons he has been the Junior Varsity coach where he compiled a record of 72 wins and 28 losses. Coach West is also in his 8th year teaching at Kamiak High school. Prior to Kamiak, Coach West attended both Southern Illinois University, and Western Washington University where he received his B.A in Special Education (2001). He also received his M.A in Education from Cambridge College, in Boston (2007). Coach West played his Prep Basketball at Glenbard West High School in Suburban Chicago. Coach West wants all potential players to know that he believes in a strict academic system, where players must keep their grades up in order to participate in an extra-curricular activity such as basketball. He believes in an emphasis on team chemistry, work ethic, and discipline. He wants players to enjoy themselves and to have a great experience playing basketball at Kamiak High School.

Jason Ramos, Assistant Coach

Through his upbringing, Coach Ramos gained a positive outlook on sports and its overall influence on the character of student athletes. Coach Ramos has participated in coaching since he was 16. He graduated with honors in 2000 from Toppenish High School and earned varsity letters in 5 different sports. After high school he suffered a career ending injury. Following his injury he continued his course of secondary education and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in English. He is currently pursuing his Masters in Education. In coming to us for his first tenure with our Knights in 08-09, Coach Ramos has accrued a great deal of coaching experience which consists of; 1 junior high team, 6 select teams, 2 academy programs, and 2 prior high school programs. Coach Ramos eagerly awaits this year's season and the opportunities and experiences to come for the players, coaching staff, school, and community.

Bryan Parker, Volunteer Assistant Coach

Being a resident of the Mukilteo community since the fifth grade, Bryan has been a true product which proves that this area creates amazing opportunities both academically and athletically for local youth. Coach Parker attended Mariner high school, went to Edmonds C.C., and was eventually awarded a basketball scholarship to Pepperdine University. There he received a degree in Sociology. Bryan was also fortunate to have brief stints professionally overseas as well as tryouts in the CBA. Since returning, he has coached in the Mukilteo Knights AAU program for 4 years as well as assisted at Kamiak High School last year. Coach Parker loves giving back to the game, and he is very enthusiastic and determined to help bring this program to a very high success level both in the classroom as well as on the court.

Brandon Corsi, Volunteer Assistant Coach

Brandon Corsi is a 2003 Kamiak High School graduate. Brandon played basketball at Kamiak for 4 years. After high school he attended Washington State University. Brandon is currently working toward a bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness Teaching and currently wrapping up his student teaching at Kamiak in the PE department. Basketball has been a part of Brandon’s life for as long as he can remember and is his biggest passion next to teaching. Brandon's motivation and dedication to the game of basketball are going to be positive assets to the coaching staff and will help lead the Kamiak basketball program in a new direction.
